Books as a means of transmitting tradition
Books on Judaism
The role of books in the life of the Jewish people cannot be overstated
- Jewish books are the primary vehicle for transmitting tradition
- That is why it is a mitzvah for every Jew to write a Sefer Torah
- The purpose of this mitzvah is to ensure that the Torah is always available for study
- Publishing Torah books is a fulfillment of this mitzvah
The great importance of publishing books
Why is it especially important to publish books on Judaism in Russian today?
- Russian-speaking Jews, who were forcibly separated from their roots, especially need books on Judaism to reconnect with their heritage
- Thank G-d, the number of Russian-speaking Jews interested in Jewish tradition is steadily growing
- The prophets and sages foretold a great return to Judaism in the time leading up to the coming of Mashiach
- It is critically important to support those on the journey back to their roots. This brings the Geulah closer, and publishing books is one of the key tools for offering that support
